Yearworm

Hear it. Name it. Date it. Place it.

A music party game. The TV plays a short clip of a song. On your phone, name the artist and the song, guess the decade, and slot it into the timeline of every song played so far. The timeline grows every round, so placing gets harder as the night goes on.

Open the TV →
Open this on the TV (or a laptop on the speakers), tap once to turn the sound on, then everyone scans the QR code. Play every phone for itself, or in teams.

Teams: each team shares one answer form. Anyone on the team can type into it, and anyone can lock it in.

The TV playing a clip: a spinning record with a question mark, radial spectrum bars and a waveform ring, the players' lock-in status and the timeline.
While a song plays, the record stays a ?. The spectrum bars and the waveform ring move with the music, and the outer ring is the clip's progress. The side panel shows who has locked in; the strip along the bottom is the timeline, with the numbered slots the phones choose from.
A phone answer form: artist, title and decade chips.
Type the artist and the title, then tap a decade. Pick an exact year for a bonus.
A phone placing the song between two cards of the timeline.
Tap the gap where the song belongs. Then Lock in.
The reveal: cover art on the record, the year, title and artist, every player's results and the song dropping into the timeline.
At the reveal the cover art flips onto the record, the colours change to the song's decade, every answer is marked, and the song drops into its place on the timeline.
